Kindergarten Homework- Carnival Week!

- Due to the carnival, there will be no written homework this week. We will be working on performance assessments and final assessment packets in class. The topics covered are listed below. Please practice while reading books at home. I will be posting a summer review packet for your use to prepare for these assessments OR to just prepare for first grade over the summer. It will be posted under at the bottom of the homework tab on our class website. THIS IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. There will be a separate, MANDATORY reading assignment given out the last week of school which will be due on the first day of first grade.
- Reading
- Identifying characters, setting, and plot in a given story
- Sequencing events in a given story
- Identifying the meaning of unfamiliar words given context clues
- Parts of a book: title, front cover, back cover, spine, author and illustrator
- Similarities and differences among texts
- Reading CVC and HF words
- Rhyming, segmenting, syllables, categorizing objects
- Writing complete sentences with proper capitalization and punctuation.
- Math
- Counting on from a given number
- Counting by 10s and 1s to 100
- Writing numbers to 20
- Comparing numbers
- Addition and subtraction sums and differences to 10
- Positional words
- 2d and 3d shapes
- Sorting by color, size, and shape
- Reading
- There will be a 1PM dismissal this Friday. Please pack an additional snack. CARES will be offered.

Homework is given weekly. A paper copy is put in the H.E.R.O. folder at the beginning of the week, as well as being posted on this website. All homework is due by the end of the week.
